We gathered 26 nominations and picked the best English, French, and Inuktitut songs to submit to this year's contest! Lemmyvision is an annual song contest held on the forum side of the Fediverse. Regional instances such as ours are asked to send one song in the language of the region to the contest. Once all songs are received, there is a global vote to determine the winner!
We are excited to announce pixelfed.ca, a new Pixelfed instance run by Canadians and hosted in Canada. Pixelfed is a free and open-source alternative to image sharing platforms such as Instagram.
Hello everyone, we're long overdue for an update on how things have been going! Finances: Since we started accepting donations back in July we've received a total of $1350, as well as $1707 in older donations from smorks. We haven't had any expenses other than OVH (approx $155/mo) since then, leaving us $2152 in the bank.
Thank you to everyone that participated, it was fun! You can see our piece of the 2024 Fediverse Canvas event here.

This was an exciting year, and for a lot of users it was their first year on lemmy.ca (and the fediverse in general).
